Susan has been involved in the natural birth community since 1999 when she gave birth naturally to her first daughter at the hospital with the support of a spectacular CNM. She is passionate about supporting women in their choices to give birth where and how they desire. She is a strong breastfeeding advocate and attended local La Leche League meetings for many years. After the birth of her first child, Susan initally considered going through training to become a Certified Professional Midwife, but eventually she realized her role and calling was to be a labor doula. She has been a Labor Doula in the community since 2006. Susan is married to Matt and together they have 3 children, the last of whom was over 10 lbs and was born at home in the water with Jean Sala as her midwife. Susan is thrilled to have the opportunity to work as a Birth Assistant at Inanna and is honored to work with such wonderful midwives! She is also a co-leader of Denton County Birth Network. Susan is also CPR certified and Neonatal Resuscitation certified. In her spare time Susan loves to spend time outdoors with her family, traveling, swimming and reading.

For her own two births she received excellent care from Certified Nurse Midwives and her second daughter was born in the water at Inanna! Rebekah is passionate about supporting breastfeeding and has breastfed her children for a combined 35 months (& counting!). Kellie is a mother of two children, and grandmother of three. She became a birth assistant at Inanna in the spring of 2013. Kellie worked with Jean and Betty in the 90's as a birth assistant, also teaching childbirth classes, and parenting support and breast feeding groups. Kellie feels it is a privilidge to share in a family's birth experience and believes most women will give birth normally when in a safe and loving environment.
Trisha is very happy to join our team as a birth assistant! She has been married to her husband Ron for 22+ years, and together they have had six beautiful children. She supported her first doula client later that year. She became a trained birth doula in 2007 and finished her certification in 2009. She is also a certified childbirth educator through Childbirth International, and a Happiest Baby on the Block educator. Our Birth Assistants
Inanna Birth & Women's Care
Anna has been married since 2010 and has two young daughters. From the time she was six years old she knew she wanted a career working with babies, and after graduating from nursing school she became a neonatal intensive care unit registered nurse. After her children were born she chose to stay home and homeschool her girls, but also had a strong desire to stay in the “baby business”. Anna is passionate about providing a peaceful and natural birth experience for her clients, and her years as an RN provide a wealth of experience that she brings to her work as a doula and birth assistant.
Lauren has 4 kids ranging in age from 13 to 18. She and her husband have been married 23 years. She has an associate of science degree with an emphasis on kinesiology. Her grand plan was to coach high school girls...Then she gave birth to her first child. Her whole world changed! She then knew that she was made to help women have babies. She has been a birth assistant a total for 6 years (taking a long break to get the kids more independent). She has been back for 2 years and is elated to be birth assisting again!
She considers it a great privilege to share in the birth of your children. She is certified in adult CPR and NeoNatal resuscitation. It is important to her that women have the choice of where and how they have their babies. She also sees the great value in the wisdom of Midwives that helps to guide parents to the right choice for them. It's a beautiful partnership
