Samantha Eubanks, MSN, CNM - Midwife
Samantha Eubanks is a Certified Nurse Midwife and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She has been a registered nurse caring for women and infants for almost twenty years. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing at The University of Texas at Tyler, Texas and a Master of Science in Nursing from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Samantha, a long time Denton resident, has worked as a bedside nurse, a nurse supervisor, a nurse educator, a nurse manager, and a nurse administrator. She has been interested in evidence-based care for women her entire nursing career.
In 2012, she was finally able to pursue a life-long dream of returning to graduate school to become a nurse midwife.
She is now be able to apply her interest in evidence-based care to what she considers the joy and privilege of care of families during the process of birth, and the miracle of life, in the role of a midwife.“I could not be more thrilled to be joining the Inanna family! I am very excited to have the opportunity to serve members of my community. I believe in the ability of women to birth, and I trust the process.”
Laura Finger MD - Medical Director of Inanna
Dr. Finger is board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She grew up in Alabama and attended Huntington College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. She completed her medical school training at University of South Alabama. She completed internship and residency at University of South Alabama Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Mobile, Alabama, where she was Chief resident her senior year. She has had Da Vinci Robotic training for minimally invasive surgery.
Her husband Ken is a native of Duncanville, Texas and he is an Mechanical Engineer. They enjoy their two sons August James and Michael Clemens. In her spare time she enjoys quilting, cooking, art museums and attending soccer games with her family.

Elaine Candeloro, MSN, CNM - Midwife
Elaine is a Certified Nurse Midwife through the American College of Nurse Midwives. She earned a Bachelor’s in Science of Nursing from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, FL and her Master’s in Science of Nursing from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY. She is currently studying for a doctoral degree in Nursing Practice, which will help her to provide care based upon the latest research and evidence.
After having her first child Elaine knew that she wanted to provide the same care given by her midwife. As a nurse she taught infant care, pregnancy, and lactation classes in Italy from 2006-2009. She was a labor and delivery nurse and nurtured adolescent, childbearing, and post-menopausal women in Oklahoma from 2010-2016.
Elaine lives with her husband Anthony and her seven children. She hopes that her professional education and experience, as well as her personal experiences with her children, will serve to provide a foundation in giving excellent care to the Inanna families.
Kathleen Steinsberger, MS, CNM - Midwife
Kathleen is a board certified nurse-midwife through the American College of Nurse Midwives. She received a Bachelors Degree in Nursing (1993) from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Science Degree (2003) from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas.
Kathleen has worked as both a staff nurse, and a charge nurse in both high risk and low risk labor & delivery at Parkland Health & Hospital System. There, she also taught prenatal classes for the Red Cross and acted as a preceptor and educator to new nurses in Labor & Delivery. After working as a nurse for six years she earned her Midwifery certificate and then practiced as a nurse-midwife at Parkland for five years.
As a mother of five herself, Kathleen truly believes in a woman’s ability to birth. She believes that birth is a normal, natural process that women should be allowed to experience on their own terms, assisted and surrounded by those that support and love them.
Jean Sala Smith, MSN CNM - Midwife and Clinical Director
Jean is a board certified nurse-midwife through the American College of Nurse Midwives. She received a Bachelors Degree in Nursing (1983) and a Master of Science Degree (1988) from the University of Texas at Houston
After practicing nursing for over 10 years in labor and delivery, newborn nursery and high-risk obstetrics, Jean followed her calling to empower women through the birth process and earned her certificate in Nurse-Midwifery through Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1994. She is a certified neonatal resuscitation instructor from the American Academy of Pediatrics and The American Heart Association. She is also a certified breastfeeding educator. Jean is also an instructor for the Birthing From Within child birth education program, as well as a basic CPR instructor. Her 30 plus years experience include hospital, birth center and homebirths.
Jean opened Inanna Birth and Women's Care in 2006 with a desire to empower women and their families through the birth experience.
